Dealing with Mold and Mildew in the Bathroom

Ventilation is Key

The best way to deal with mold is to prevent it. Always run the exhaust fan during and for 30 minutes after your shower.

Vinegar Over Bleach

Bleach only kills surface mold on non-porous surfaces. White vinegar penetrates porous surfaces and kills mold at the root.

Tea Tree Oil

Mix 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil with 1 cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray on moldy areas and don't rinse. The smell is strong but dissipates, leaving a mold-free surface.
